Sinopse
Os doze artigos neste volume originaram-se do seminário do Grupo de Estudos Neolíticos realizado no Museu Britânico em 10 de novembro de 2003 sobre o tema Animais no Neolítico. Este livro inclui a maioria dos trabalhos entregues e debatidos na reunião e outros contribuídos posteriormente. 
O objectivo do livro é cobrir a ampla gama de abordagens actuais sob os animais no Neolítico e abranger um âmbito geográfico tão amplo quanto for possível na Europa. Em particular, tenta-se garantir que tanto os animais selvagens como os domésticos sejam discutidos e que o seu papel social e económico receba a devida atenção.
Umberto Albarella, um participante na reunião de 2003, completou o volume com um comentário e discussão sobre os documentos que os coloca em perspetiva a mudança de pontos de vista sobre os animais no Neolítico da Europa.
