As migrações constituem uma das características mais definitórias da história humana desde seu início até o presente. Nos últimos anos, a crescente aplicação de estudos antigos ADN Antigo e isótopos estáveis tem revolucionado nossa compreensão dos movimentos populacionais no passado, embora a interpretação dos resultados ainda seja ainda pouco clara e controversa. 

Repensar as migrações na Eurásia tardo-pré-histórica tardia fornece uma visão da pesquisa de ponta sobre as migrações pré-históricas na Eurásia, integrando diferentes perspetivas de evidências e enfatizando a necessidade de combinar as análises zooarqueológicas com uma base teórica e metodológica mais sólida

Os 15 capítulos do livro vão desde o 3º ao 1º milénio aC, com um escopo geográfico que se estende da Europa Atlântica à Ásia Central. Os estudos de caso incluem uma reavaliação de migrações em grande escala, mas também estudos de alta resolução sobre microrregiões concretas. 

No geral, os resultados oferecidos no volume revelam a extraordinária diversidade das migrações na Eurásia Antiga e dos jeitos nos que a arqueologia pode contribuir a uma discussão mais ampla sobre a própria mobilidade tanto no passado como no presente.
